Saints and Aint’s – G201018

Workshop ID: G201018
Dates: October 4 - October 10
Price: $775.00 - $1,540.00

Though some prefer simple contrasts, art explores gray areas. Who wears the halo? Who wears the horns? Wings? Hoofs? As a writer, you get to choose. Language itself is full of biases. So are the images we use to represent situations, environments, relationships. In centuries past, good and evil were depicted allegorically, often as human-like figures with blonde hair or forked tongues, easy to identify. Currently they make themselves known as psychological forces, less distinct but still effective. In this course, we’ll read other poets and writers whose work leans into the mysteries of good and evil, compose our own ways to flesh out the Virtues and the Seven Deadly Sins, and distinguish the Saints from the Ain’ts.
