Artist Residency: Estudio Corazón

Estudio Corazón at Ghost Ranch is a self-directed residency program for artists, writers and creative thinkers. Residencies are between 1 – 4 weeks long depending on the time of year.

For decades Ghost Ranch has provided sacred space and inspiration for artists of all types in many different mediums. Developed in 2020, the Estudio Corazón residency is designed to give people an opportunity to immerse themselves in this majestic landscape and delve into their creative practice.

There are no project or production requirements.

During January and February residencies, artists stay in our “mesa” guest rooms, featuring phenomenal views and private bathrooms. For May – November residencies, artists are housed in a community of eight rustic, individual casitas. Each casita consists of a bedroom and a studio. They are side by side in the same building and separated to create distinct yet unified spaces. While the adobe buildings do not have indoor plumbing, each casita has its own designated bathroom (shower + toilet) a short walk away.

Our casitas are tucked away in a beautiful, secluded area of the Ranch. There is no WiFi or reliable cell phone coverage in this location, so we encourage you to use other places on the Ranch for communication, such as the dining hall, headquarters / welcome center, and library.

Please note that the Ranch is an active environment, which may include weddings, youth programs, workshops, and day visitors. We embrace these activities as part of the vibrant residency experience. If you are seeking complete solitude for your practice, we kindly suggest you explore other options
