Choosing Conscious Elderhood at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico
October 7-13, 2018

Does the idea of spending a week envisioning purpose, passion and growth in your later life chapters stir something in you?  Join us for this retreat, for people 50 and up, an opportunity to learn and experience powerful practices that support your journey toward a conscious elderhood. Together we will experientially explore the four pillars of conscious aging: belief, release, purpose, and community, as we engage sharing councils; life review work; exploration of legacy; vision clarification and intention-setting; ceremony; and a day of solitude on the land.  Participant evaluations of our 14 previous retreats at Ghost Ranch have consistently been filled with appreciation for the luxury of unhurried time, strong community, skilled guidance and natural beauty to help envision what it can be like to grow elder rather than just older. Ron Pevny, Director of the Center for Conscious Eldering and Anne Wennhold, established leader of conscious aging support groups in the New York area will facilitate the event.

The cost of this retreat is $1,645, and includes all meals for six days, six nights lodging, tuition, meeting facility, and conversation fee. For more information and registration details, please visit  For questions, please contact or 970-247-7943Download the information flyer.

Landscape Painting with Award-winning Australian Artist Jo Bertini
October 19-21, 2018

Join Australian expressionist master Jo Bertini for a three day intensive at the legendary Ghost Ranch in the landscape that provided endless inspiration for Georgia O’ Keeffe. This is Jo’s first offering in the United States! In Australia, her workshops sell out in minutes as Australian artists, teachers and students have found her a remarkably generous teacher, freely sharing her practice that has carried her to the top of her field. The stunning Ghost Ranch Arts Center will be our private studio for three breath-taking days. One-on-one guidance, “en plein air” painting in once-in-a-lifetime settings, studio practice, immersing oneself in a land that absolutely vibrates with beauty as well as the incredible history of indigenous Puebloans, Apaches, Utes, Spanish explorers and settlers and, of course, artists. Jo Bertini is an award-winning, established artist. She is a painter, art educator, lecturer and writer. She is known internationally for her paintings and drawings of desert landscapes, people and animals. Her work has been acquired by private and public collections both nationally and internationally and is on display in many public art galleries, museums and institutions. She has a history of thirty years as a professional exhibiting artist. Her paintings have been curated in hundreds of solo, group and touring exhibitions, including exhibitions in Australia, China, Malaysia, USA and India. She has been widely published and reproduced and her work is included in films and television documentaries and programs. She has been awarded many art prizes, commissions and public art installations for museums, corporations and city councils and many unique international artist residencies. For ten years she worked as an Expedition Artist on scientific and ecological survey expeditions into the most remote and inaccessible desert regions of Australia. A published art book, “Fieldwork- Jo Bertini” celebrates her long and intimate engagement with the Australian desert. For more information and to register: Or contact us at 505.450.8361.
