Spend a day at Ghost Ranch and you’ll experience one of the Southwest’s most extraordinary landscapes and its rich history. Spend a night here, and you’ll discover the ranch from a wholly different perspective. By late afternoon, the pace begins to soften along with the light. The stars emerge overhead, and the ranch grows quieter, slower, and more intimate. Overnight guests don’t just visit Ghost Ranch, they settle into it, one sunset, one meandering walk, and one unhurried porch conversation at a time.
A self-guided stay lets you set your own pace here. Fill your days with hikes through vibrant landscapes, visits to our museums and library, horseback rides, or guided tours. Share a meal and conversation in the dining hall, and find a shady spot to sketch, read, or watch the clouds drift across the mesas. Whether your itinerary is packed full or deliciously empty, Ghost Ranch offers the rare luxury of time and space to make the experience your own.

STAYING AT THE RANCH
RANCH LODGING
Find the spot that’s right for your visit, from a cozy hideaway for a solo adventure to a spacious cottage for family and friends. Guests can choose from historic adobes, comfortable lodge-style rooms, budget-friendly bunkhouses, and campsites for personal tents and RVs. Each has its own character—and scenic views—while keeping you close to the trails, Dining Hall, museums, and other activities at the heart of the Ranch.
Guest-quarter stays include three daily meals and complimentary access to many Ranch amenities. Campground stays do not include meals, but meal packages may be purchased in advance of your visit.
DINING AT GHOST RANCH
A true hub of Ranch life, the Dining Hall features hearty, nourishing, seasonal cuisine. Buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, with light bites, coffee, tea, and cold beverages available around the clock. When you need a quick refuel or between-meal treat, the Trading Post general store offers housemade sandwiches and salads along with packaged snacks, sweets, and drinks.
RANCH ACTIVITIES AND AMENITIES
Along with an extensive system of hiking trails and walking paths, guests can enjoy the Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology and the Florence Hawley Ellis Museum of Anthropology; our 24-hour library complete with reading nooks and a Children’s Room; contemplative labyrinths and zen garden; and free wellness classes in the Yurt. Additional activities, such as the O’Keeffe Landscape Tour and trail rides, can be booked here. Tours and guided rides fill quickly, and we encourage securing a spot well ahead of your arrival.
AROUND ABIQUIU
Ghost Ranch is a natural home base for exploring northern New Mexico. In the village of Abiquiu, visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s Abiquiu Welcome Center, sign up to tour the artist’s home and studio, and visit local galleries and shops. Nearby, paddle, hike, or picnic at Abiquiu Lake, or take the short walk beneath the soaring sandstone walls of Echo Amphitheater. You can also follow the Chama River canyon to the Monastery of Christ in the Desert when road conditions permit, soak in the mineral springs at Ojo Caliente, or make a day trip to Santa Fe, Taos, or Los Alamos.
