Pueblo people of New Mexico hold sacred beliefs and practices that have guided them through life for centuries. Their ways of knowing come from living in deep relationship to the land and Earth community in this area of Northern New Mexico. Two honored elders from the Jemez Pueblo, Florence and Salvador Yepa, have been gifted with unique abilities to share their culture in ways that move and inspire multi-generations of people coming from both indigenous and western backgrounds. They are returning to the ranch with their stories, songs, dances, clay work and culinary skills in a four full-day cultural immersion. Participants will be assisted in making pots with local clay and baking bread in the traditional outdoor oven called an horno. The immersion will be augmented by a field trip to the nearby Po-eh Cultural Center. This is a retreat for those who want both a hands-on experience of Southwest culture and heartful connections to two beloved elders!
This is also a great resource and support program for those who are doing congregational and personal work surrounding the Doctrine of Discovery. Groups of four or more receive a 10% per person discount. Call for details 505.685.1017.
