Handmade Paper, Journal & Creative Writing with Chauncey Foster – G26010204
Join us for a ten-day creative workshop where curiosity and craft come alive. Together, we’ll transform discarded textiles into cold-pressed handmade paper, build unique journals, and explore new ways of telling stories through writing and art. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to experiment and create.
We’ll begin with three days of hands-on papermaking, turning textile waste into textured, meaningful sheets. Each participant will have the chance to weave in personal fabrics—old clothing, scraps, or keepsakes—so every sheet carries memory and story. The following two days focus on journal making, as we bind and design books built entirely from the paper we created.
During the second week, the workshop opens into wider creative exploration. Participants will have opportunities to make more paper and journals, while also stepping beyond the book form into experimental printmaking, collaborative projects, and guided creative writing. The emphasis is on discovery and play, giving everyone space to stretch their imagination and explore what’s possible with paper, fiber, and words. You’ll leave with handmade journals, original creations, and the shared experience of turning waste into beauty, memory into art, and curiosity into lasting expression.
