Family Week
Led by Jamie Halpern
Family Week is a beloved annual tradition where your family comes together to explore, create, and connect amidst the breathtaking beauty of Ghost Ranch. More than just a getaway, it is a chance to unplug from everyday distractions and find your meaning with the people who matter the most. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure or quality time together, Family Week offers a transformational experience for every generation.
Every morning, you and your family will participate together in a different mini-workshop to fuel your familial bond. Each mini-workshop is designed to be started and finished in a single morning and most are accessible to ages 5 and up. At least one adult must be present for every family in every workshop. Once you register, you will be emailed a separate form to rank your top mini-workshop choices. Please note that all mini-workshops have a participant cap and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The key is registering and ranking your choices early! Mini-workshops may include: Make n’ Take Copper Jewelry, Outdoor Adventures Arroyo Ramble Play or Waterfront, Leather Making, Fused Glass and more!
In the afternoons, grandparents, parents and children become partners in adventure or rest, discovering play and rejuvenation. Families are encouraged to journey back in time visiting our Anthropology and Paleontology museums or booking trail rides and tours, run wild and free on our multicolored hiking trails, cool off in our pool or bask in the sun with a book from our library. Family crafts or game tournaments are available for every interest.
Each evening, participants will join in community with fellow families, enjoying a variety of family oriented activities designed to enhance and build relationships and spark curiosity around our connection to ourselves, each other and the land. Activities may include: fort building, Ghost Ranch Olympics, family crest making, Ghost Ranch’s traditional Coffee House/Talent Show and more!
Tuition cost is $260 per person. Children age 4 and under are free. {For example, for a family of 3 (with all children over 4 years old), the total tuition cost would equal $780.} Tuition cost is separate from lodging and dining costs.
If you’re searching for an experience of a lifetime, where ancient landscapes whisper their stories, where creativity, exploration and transformation unfold in the simplest yet most proud ways, look no further. You’ve found it. We are excited to meet you and your family!
