Based on the book Wild Mercy: The Wisdom of the Feminine, join Mirabai in the study of women mystics. As the fierce and tender voice of the feminine rises again, people of all genders are gifted with renewed access to the women mystics and wisdom beings across the spiritual traditions, such as Teresa of Avila, Julian of Norwich, Mary Magdalene, the Shekinah, Song of Songs, Bhakti poet Mirabai, Sufi mystic Rabia, Fatima, Tara, Quan Yin, Kali, and indigenous Mother goddesses. In this gathering, following Wild Mercy, we immerse ourselves in the living transmission of these beings through engaging in contemplative readings from the mystics, group reflections, evocative writing exercises, inter-spiritual chanting and silent sitting, weaving these luminous elements into a basket of awakened community. By drinking from the wellspring of women’s wisdom across the spiritual landscape (with the utmost respect for the cultural treasures being shared from these ancient wisdom traditions) we carry these living waters into our lives and offer them to a world thirsty for the feminine.

The high desert of New Mexico is a magical place anytime of year, but in Midsummer it is at its
most alluring. Days are typically warm and nights are cool. The towering sandstone formations,
set against the deep blue sky, are living shrines to the magnificence of the natural world. Apples
are beginning to grow, grasses are lengthening, and it’s a perfect time for hiking in the colorful
We will make our way to the Ranch on Sunday afternoon, June 16 (check in begins at 3pm at the Welcome Center). We’ll gather for dinner (5:30), followed by a short orientation and opportunity to introduce ourselves.
On Monday and Tuesday we will plunge into 2 full days of feminine wisdom and community,
weaving silent meditation with movement and song, responding to evocative writing prompts and deep dialog, listening to the ecstatic poetry of the women mystics and connecting these perennial wisdom teachings to your own life. There will also be ample free time for you to rest and restore, hike and connect with each other. We depart on Wednesday morning, June 19.
Special events include an Earth Treasure Vase practice with Lama Cynthia Jurs on Monday afternoon, a reading from Mirabai’s new book, WILD MERCY: Living the Fierce & Tender Wisdom of the Women Mystics, with music by renowned singer-songwriter Jenny Bird Monday evening, a provocative dialog with Vera de Chalambert about power, privilege and liberation on Tuesday afternoon, chanting with Sita, a panel discussion with special guest teachers, and a closing gathering around an outdoor fire Tuesday night.
Please pack layers for changing weather conditions, hat, sunscreen, and sturdy walking shoes, a journal and pen, and an item to place on a feminine wisdom altar we will create together. Feel free to bring musical instruments. Mostly, we invite you to expect the unexpected! This gathering is about you, about us, an opportunity to tap into the wellspring of collective wisdom, to respond communally to the call to connect with our own souls and heal the soul of the world.
