June, 2019

Dear Friends,

Sarah Noggle and I are excited to have you in our “Weave and Wander” class this summer during the Festival of the Arts at Ghost Ranch. It is always a highlight of our summer, and we hope that it will be for you as well.

This year we have selected a weaving pattern called Rosepath to teach you. It is a traditional yet versatile and very popular pattern that is fun for beginners as well as intermediate weavers.

We will be bringing a lot of colors of a bamboo/cotton yarn for you to choose from. There will be samples of a wrap/shawl (18” x 80”) or a scarf (9” x 75”). You are welcome to make a table runner as well, so you may wish to measure your table before you come!

In addition to weaving we will be doing an afternoon trip to Chimayo to visit two weaving studios and the Sanctuario de Chimayo. This is always a highlight of our week together.

We ask that you bring a notebook, a cloth tape measure, and scissors (if you are not flying). Ghost Ranch provides looms and all related equipment for the class. Your materials fee will cover one weaving project for the week and the Ranch’s weaving supplies and equipment.

We wish you safe travels and if you have any questions prior to class, please email me at weavesuz@comcast.net.

Looking forward!

Suzanne Halvorson
