Hiking and Mindfulness with Jesse Fisher and Erin Fisher – G26090307
Embark on hiking journeys and soul enrichment with Jesse Fisher, a long time advocate, employee, and ranch explorer, and Erin Fisher, a former summer Ghost Ranch college staffer and 400hr accredited yoga instructor. Jesse has worked several summers for Ghost Ranch and has now been a professional guide for 4yrs at a luxury resort based in southern Utah. Erin has been a yoga instructor for several years in Orlando, FL, and strives to find light, learning, and connection in everyday life. Together, we are curating an experience to fully delve into the southwestern landscape on and off Ghost Ranch, and seeking to heal our bodies through restorative yoga.
The hiking portion of this program will have strong focuses on geology and history, and covering beautiful desert and mountainous terrain. All hikes will be (at minimum) starting at an elevation of about 6,000 feet or more. Most hikes will range from 3-8 miles, but all will incorporate some challenging elements (loose rock, steep slopes, rock ledges, use of hands/feet). Adjustments will happily be made if people feel uncomfortable, or need a break from longer, harder days to rest the legs. Yoga will be periodically offered throughout the week, will not be advanced, and the last session will feature Jesse playing live acoustic guitar! Our desire is to hike hard to see amazing rock formations, expansive views, quiet places, restore our bodies, all while being receptive to the stories of our fellow hikers and exploring how the desert’s magic can inspire change in us all. We hope you consider this class during an exceptional time of year in Abiquiu, NM, and stay open to the wonder of it all!

Jesse FisherI first came to the ranch when I was 6 months old, and I’ve visited every summer since then! The desert became my second home, and after 22 years of growing up in Colorado, it is now my soul’s home. All of my collegiate summers were spent on the Summer College Staff at Ghost Ranch, and they were some of the best times of my life. I truly fell in love with Ghost Ranch surrounding areas, and as I’ve gotten older found a passion for the geology of the desert. I have worked in various roles at Ghost Ranch, and I am happy to bring all that experience into our adventures! Currently, I have been a professional outdoor guide of 4+ years at the ultra-luxury resort of Amangiri, near Lake Powell, Utah, living out my dream of continuously exploring the desert in various ways!
