The Art of Seeing Light: A photographer’s Way of Seeing with Sandy Kaplan – G26090303
In this workshop, you will learn:
– how decisions are made, how they are made on the fly, and change in a second.
– how mistakes and failures are turned into valuable lessons.
-how to see the world — the quiet moments, the time when you are not shooting but being still, allowing something magical to happen.
-how to notice what draws your eye first. Ask yourself, what you might be ignoring on purpose.
-how to ask: Where is the story? What is the story in that photo? What does the photo say?
-how to approach the light.
-about natural light as it changes throughout the day.
– how to position a subject relative to light. We wil shoot the same subject in multiple lighting conditions to see the transformation.
– decision-making in the moment including which lens to use, what aperture to shoot at, and what perspective to shoot from.
-about working with people (if applicable) including how to make a subject comfortable, how to direct without over-directing, capturing authentic expressions, building trust with your subject.
-about editing and the selection process
-about your mistakes and failures
-your own personal voice and how to develop it
To sum up this class………This is not just a class of lessons. It will be about understanding how photos and not taken but how photos are made.
