Church Youth Week with Claudia Aguilar Rubalcava – G26060305
Calling all Middle and High School Youth Groups from across the Nation!
Come spend an unforgettable week at Ghost Ranch—a place where faith, friendship, and adventure come to life. Together you’ll worship, serve, play and experience God’s presence in the beauty of the New Mexico high desert.
Rev. Claudia Aguilar Rubalcava will guide youth in exploring the rich diversity of humanity and life, discovering new ways to connect with their faith and each other and providing experiences they can take back into their daily lives. All worship and reflection opportunities will be interfaith and provide opportunity for youth participation and engagement. Youth will practice the principles they learn in worship both at the Ranch and with local community partners during meaningful service projects. Ghost Ranch’s Summer Staff will lead fun, joyous activities to foster team-building and playful spirits as youth dive into both creative pursuits and outdoor adventures. For more detailed information, please click on the Welcome Letter and Itinerary.
Register early and you and your group will help shape the week’s program—crafting thoughtful reflection questions, choosing worship activities and Scripture passages, suggesting music, and adding your own creative ideas to the mix. Your voice matters here!
Cost is $450 per person and is inclusive of tuition, lodging and meals. Lodging accommodations are dorm style with a communal bath for the building. Upon registering, our Youth Programs Manager will work with your Youth Group leader to create a rooming list and room assignments for your group, ensuring appropriate youth and adult chaperone placements based on room and bed availability.
Come discover what God is doing at Ghost Ranch—and be part of the wonder of it all!
For more information and to register, please contact our Youth Programs Manager, Isabel Chavez, via email or phone, isabelc@ghostranch.org, 505-685-1000, extension 4330.

Claudia Aguilar RubalcavaRev. Claudia Aguilar Rubalcava is the director of engagement at More Light Presbyterians. She grew up in Mexico City, with her parents -a jazz musician and a dentist/psychologist – and her two siblings. Mexico City is still her favorite place in the world, and she hopes to move back there one day.
Rev. Aguilar believes words and everyday actions have the power to shape people’s lives and the world’s future, a belief that led her to participate as a member of the editorial board of the new Book of Common Worship, co-author of the Connections Worship Companion by WJK, and as author of liturgy and articles for Call to Worship. She has served the church as campus minister, pastor, associate dean of students, and seminary admissions staff.
Being bilingual, bicultural, and binational is part of her call to build bridges among different groups of people. She is a certified yoga instructor and loves music, dogs, cooking, and baking.
She is interested in ecumenical and interfaith efforts to bring justice and peace to every sentient being. When not working, she is spending time in her garden with her husband Doug and their dogs, hiking with friends, or trying to replicate and improve authentic Mexican dishes with limited access to ingredients.
