Creating Beauty in Kilns with Fused Glass with Katrina Jameson – G25070309
It may be summer, but it’s never too early to plan your gifts for Christmas. Family and friends will appreciate receiving things that you have made for them, especially when the gift is a bright and beautiful piece of jewelry or an ornament made from specially fused glass. Slump a candy dish or make a night light. You might even make yourself a gift or two.
Ghost Ranch provides all the basic tools and consumable supplies that you will need for the week. (The cost of these is included in your registration fee). Additional specialty supplies for more advanced projects or to continue your new hobby at home will be available for purchase from your instructor. This is a perfect class for beginners, students with limited prior experience, and serious minded youths (14 years minimum age). Experienced glass fusers will find plenty of techniques and supplies to try something new. Because of limited kiln space and time for firing, we will be working on small jewelry and ornament size projects.

Katrina JamesonLooking about for a new creative outlet, Katrina attended the Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico class “Fused Glass is Hot!” with Olive Smith and fell in love with glass as an art medium. She rushed home and set up her ceramic kiln to fuse glass, and for the last 16 years, Katrina has created one of a kind jewelry and wall art with fusible art glass, recycled window glass and dichroic glass with unique inclusions. Her hobby became a second career with Mariposa Treasures, LLC in September 2011. She continues to grow her jewelry making skills with new fused glass, silversmithing and lapidary techniques.
