Our online booking system is down. Please call 505.685.4881 or 505.685.1019 to register for this workshop. We apologize for the inconvenience.
This is a fun introduction to painting the landscape with watercolors that will start at the very beginning. There is no need to have any prior art experience whatsoever, but if you have taken watercolor classes beforehand, you are welcome to join the class.
We will learn various ways to create the many textures we see here at Ghost Ranch, working on dry paper as well as wet paper. Exploring different types of washes, we will discover how to capture the endless skies here. We will work on basic color theory and how to mix the stunning colors we see in the mountains surrounding us. We will also study composition and the components of the land here – the many colorful rock formations and exotic plant life.
