EARTH BODY: The Flowering Way with Rulan Tangen – G25040201

Apr 18 – 20 2025

EARTH BODY: Movement for All offers a spring retreat “The Flowering Way “at Ghost Ranch. This includes gentle eco-somatic movement and reconnecting your body to a sense of place through imagination and intuition, memory and multi sensory listening. The 3 day arc reflects the season, on Easter Weekend, just before Earth Day – evoking the blossoming spring symbolized by ancient divine feminine goddess archetype, and the earth herself as mother. We will experience embodiment forms for morning awakening, daytime vitality and nightly dreaming alongside writing, art and nature and reading from Robin Kimmerer’s “Braiding Sweetgrass” and other inspiring texts. Participants will enjoy a sense of renewal with creative movements inspired by expressions of the energy of spiraling roots, swaying of trees in soft winds, blossoming leaves and petals, and activation of flower-like power points throughout the body.

Led by a dance artist with decades of international experience, Rulan is also a cancer survivor who has experienced the life-giving power of simple restorative and intuitive movement. She now extends her professional dance dedication to offering simple forms that are accessible to all, from a spirit of encouragement, empowerment and individual sovereignty to adapt and grow through movement. No dance background is necessary while those at advanced physical level will enjoy deepening the purpose of movement; and those with interest in trying forms such as yoga, stretch/strength, tai chi, and breathwork, will be nourished by EARTH BODY’s uniquely poetic expressions of motion!

April’s retreat offers a gentle flow of movement arts that are both relaxing and invigorating, connecting the inner dreamscape to the outer landscape through eco somatic embodiment practices that reflect the springtime.
