Chauncey FosterChauncey is an interdisciplinary artist and educator working at the intersection of sustainability, storytelling, and material transformation. They transform discarded textiles into cold-pressed handmade paper and build journals that serve as vessels for memory, creativity, and exploration.
Through workshops and residencies, Chauncey invites participants of all backgrounds to engage in papermaking, bookbinding, and creative writing. Their practice emphasizes embedding meaningful fabrics—such as old clothing or personal scraps—into handmade paper, turning materials with histories into art.
Chauncey’s workshops combine technical skill with creative freedom, encouraging experimentation beyond journals into printmaking, collaborative projects, and imaginative writing. Their work champions the transformation of waste into beauty, material into memory, and making into connection, offering participants a hands-on path to self-expression, discovery, and community.
