Ghost Ranch has two open positions for Maintenance Technicians to join our Facilities Department. We are looking for individuals with a mixture of the following experience in maintenance. Ideally, we would like to hire two FT employees; however, we are open to PT employment for weekends (Saturday & Sunday).

The Maintenance Technician is an hourly, non-exempt position, which reports to the Facilities Director. Wages are commensurate with experience.


  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Construction
  • Vehicle Maintenance
  • Diagnosis of Maintenance issues
  • Irrigation System Set Up & Maintenance
  • Building Repair & Maintenance such as:
    • Stairs, railings, tile, floors, roofs, gutters, fasteners, lights, ceiling fans, appliances, doors, cabinets, windows, locks, ceilings, walls, patios, walkways, fireplaces, gas fixtures, water heaters, controlled access systems, etc.


  • A company vehicle and haul a trailer
  • Heavy equipment
  • Standard power tools


  • (66% to 100% of the time) to be on feet.
  • (75% to 100% of the time) to perform the following physical activities:
    • Bend/stoop/squat/kneel/climb stairs & ladders/reach above shoulder
    • Perform routine maintenance /repairs, pickMaintenancePosition-2022 up tools and needed equipment.
    • Lifting/carrying/pushing & pulling equipment, appliances, heavy objects
    • Grasp/grip/turn handles of tools & equipment with wrists, hand & finger dexterity


  • Over 150 lbs. – rare need (less than 1% of the time)
  • 75-150 lbs. – occasional need (1% to 33% of the time)
  • 25-75 lbs. – frequent need (33% to 66% of the time)
  • 1 – 25 lbs. – constant need (66% to 100% of the time)

Do you love working with a team in the kitchen, cooking meals & sharing ALL kitchen duties with your co-workers?

We are currently looking for an experienced Food Services Assistant to assist and support our Chef to prepare, cook, serve, and clean in our community dining hall. Please read this entire job posting to be considered for the position.


  • 1-year minimum experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certificate or the ability to renew/obtain it within 3 months
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, twist, bend, walk, kneel, push & pull all day
  • Ability to work in a variety of kitchen conditions, such as cooking over the HOT grill or stove, moving ingredients in and out of the COLD refrigerator, Washing dishes in the HOT, WET dish station

You are happy to share all duties in the kitchen on a rotational basis and no job is beneath you, including dishwashing. You listen carefully and follow instructions because you care about the work you do and value the organizational efforts of the Chef. Communication: You listen carefully to the Chef, co-workers, guests, and other Ghost Ranch team members and always respond with respect and kindness. You ask questions if you don’t understand, and you always pass on messages when asked to do so.

Passion & Creativity: You love to prep, cook, serve, and clean up in the kitchen environment. The kitchen is more than a job for you. You get excited when the chef introduces a new recipe and strive to be the best you can be in the kitchen. Finally, you take pride in the final presentation the team lays out when all the cooking is done because the creativity of the work is a passion for you.

We have full-time & part time positions available, which require weekends and occasional overtime with flexibility in scheduling when necessary. Starting wage is $15.00/hr. and we provide free lunches in our Dining Hall, we have supportive management, and actively practice work/life balance.  For FT employees we have an excellent benefits package and extensive PTO accrual.

Being on college staff isn’t only a summer job, it’s also creative, bold, and worthy of your time and effort. The work is varied but combines with other ranch work to help us fulfill Ghost Ranch’s mission of enriching lives by providing hospitality and transformational experiences.

To be considered for this program, an applicant must be enrolled in a university or college, or of the traditional age equivalent. Lodging and meals are included you may even have a hand in preparing the food and cleaning the rooms-contributing greatly to the Ghost Ranch guest experience!

There is ample scheduled time off for exploration, fun, and relaxation.

We are currently looking for a Gate Attendant to assist and support our Guest Services Department as the first point of contact for guests entering the Ranch. Please read this entire job posting to be considered for the position.



  1. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to remain calm, flexible, and cheerful.
  2. Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to graciously direct and inform guests.
  3. Outstanding positive attitude with the ability to be a role model and team player.
  4. Keen observation and inquiry skills to be able to detect guests needs or potential problems.
  5. Multilingual skills would be an advantage but must have a strong ability to find ways to communicate if a language barrier exists.


RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Act as first point of contact for Ghost Ranch guests.
  2. Welcome guests to the Ranch with a smile and graciousness.
  3. Interact and communicate with guests from a diverse background with cultural awareness.
  4. Inquire as to the reason for the guests visit (program participation, event group, day guest etc.).
  5. Provide accurate and detailed directions so guests know where they need to go.
  6. Learn GR history, current events, points of interest, procedures, and rules.
  7. Share knowledge of GR history, current events, points of interest, procedures, and rules.
  8. Hand out day passes, collect payment and secure monies as directed.
  9. Keep accurate and complete records of all guest transactions as directed.
  10. Communicate by radio all guest information as needed to: (front desk, programs, events, HR, maintenance, kitchen etc.)
  11. Report any suspicious behavior in a confidential, yet timely manner.
  12. Practice & support the GR mission & values to promote an exceptional experience for guests and a healthy, happy, peaceful work environment.


The Gate Attendant position is a full-time, 40 hour/week, non-exempt (hourly) position, which requires weekends, holidays and overtime as needed; additionally, it is a position that is 50% indoors & 50% outdoors.  This position offers full benefits and is subject to the Ghost Ranch Personnel Policies.
