Learn to sketch and paint in a small journal while traveling to small New Mexican towns. You will have specific daily assignments which build day by day so by the end of the week with a full day in Taos, you will have learned enough to go out on your own. This class is for anyone who wants to record travel experiences in a personal way. It uses minimal materials which can be stored in a big baggie and put in a purse, tote bag, or day pack. Instead of taking 1000 pictures on a digital camera, you’ll learn to create a memorable painting in sometimes only fifteen minutes! I provide xeroxed handouts on the history of the various places we visit which helps you understand where you are and what you’re painting. All places we visit have an artistic culture which adds to your painting experience. Camp chairs are provided for those people who don’t have their own art travel stools. Supplies can be purchased online at Dick Blick, Jerry’s Artarama, Utrecht, Cheap Joe’s, and ASW. Locally, Artisan’s on Cerrillos Rd. in Santa Fe is a big art supply store.
that our workshop price structure packages your tuition, course materials, lodging and meals together in a single rate.
