Prophetic Action: A Journey of Love – G2007314CDS

Workshop ID: G2007314CDS
Dates: July 19 - July 25
Price: $775.00 - $1,540.00

This workshop is based on Rabbi Ward-Lev’s book, The Liberating Path of the Hebrew Prophets: Then and Now. We live in times that call for hope and wisdom to help us face our pressing societal challenges. In this workshop, we will study Biblical wisdom in an intimate learning community, and together discover creative and wise ways to approach these challenges.

This retreat takes place at Casa del Sol, away from the main ranch, which provides quiet and safe space for work that engages spirit and focus, dedicated to deep spiritual and artistic contemplation. Some meals will be prepared and taken in community at Casa del Sol, others will be taken in community at the Ghost Ranch Dining Hall.

Our learning journey will include an examination of prophetic expression and prophetic action as found in the Hebrew Bible and in contemporary prophets like Martin Luther King, Martin Buber and bell hooks. Our study will culminate in an understanding of the qualities that infuse transformative prophetic action today. We will also explore spiritual practices that support prophetic action. The workshop will include special guests each evening who will present on their prophetic work. Our learning will include text study, conversation, meditative exercises and singing.

Note: This course is also being offered Sunday-Saturday, May 18-23, 2020
