Have you always wanted to learn how to quilt but thought it might be too difficult? This course is designed to guide you from the very first step all the way to a completed quilt!

You’ll create the Potato Chip Block — an ideal project for beginners. Using 2½” x 4½” fabric pieces, you’ll piece together nine blocks plus borders to make a beautiful lap-size quilt.

Over five days, you’ll receive clear instruction and plenty of hands-on class time to assemble, bind, and proudly finish your first quilting project!

My name is Patsy Bailey, and quilting has been both my passion and my art form for more than forty years. I come from generations of needleworkers, and my love for fabric and thread took root early, nurtured by my mother’s hands and the quiet rhythm of stitching at her side. Over the years, that spark blossomed through classes and workshops across the country, each one deepening my appreciation for color, texture, and the stories that quilts can tell.

I became an active quilter in 1985 and held my first show in 1993—a milestone that affirmed quilting as not only a craft but a lifelong journey of expression. My love of learning continues to inspire new techniques and designs, carrying me along unexpected paths that reach even across oceans, as some of my quilts have traveled as far as Ireland.
Teaching others is both an honor and a joy, allowing me to share the beauty of this time-honored art and ensure its spirit endures for generations to come. Quilting connects me—to history, to creativity, and to community—and sharing that connection remains one of the greatest rewards of my life.
