Drawing & Clay with Anna Forster Smith – G25090403
In this workshop we will explore drawing as an entry point to making ceramics. Participants will develop techniques in putting images on clay while playing with drawing methods. We will learn and practice sgraffito (carving into clay), wax resist, stencil making, layering slip, underglaze and glaze to achieve profound personal surfaces on our ceramic works.
Classes will also include exercises in our sketchbooks and on paper that will help develop imagery and personal narratives to explore on our pots. Some experience making pottery is helpful, all levels welcome.
