Vivianne Holmes, Ph.D. is a Mainer whose love of metal and stone is fed by learning and working with other women in the beauty of the Southwest. Vivianne has learned and taught silversmithing at Ghost Ranch for over 20 years. Vivianne is also University of Maine extension educator and has a small farm in Buckfield where she raises Christmas trees, livestock and various crops. Because of her innovative thinking and can-do spirit, Vivianne helped birth the first organization in Maine devoted to helping women farmers. The WAgN, Women in Agriculture Network, program was established in 1997 through the support of Maine Cooperative Extension and currently includes over 1000 women farmers in Maine and northern New England.
