Patricia Pearce received her BFA from the University Of Cincinnati in the School Of Design, Art & Architecture. She has received masters’ credits from the University of New Mexico and Amherst College. Originally from north Georgia with part Cherokee heritage, Patricia has always been in tune with her multi-ethnic roots. After a long search, she found her ideal artistic home in Santa Fe in She found it to be most inspiring for the type of work that she does. She initially concentrated on ceramic sculpture, watercolor and printmaking. Now she spends most of her time working on mixed media pieces. For several summers, Patricia studied and taught in Florence, Italy, which reflects a profound influence on her work. Patricia has been teaching art at SFCC School of Art & Design for over 20 years and is presently the Program Head of the Printmaking & Books Arts Department. Patricia has work in private collections in Europe and throughout the United States. She has won numerous awards for her work from Virginia to California. She is noted for her found object sculptures that she creates from all types of material. Besides teaching, she currently works out of her studio in Santa Fe.
