Kathleen spent the majority of her career in social service program management as well as being a Certified Personal Coach. Since her retirement in 2014, she has focused her skills and experience in the areas of Coach, Workshop Leader, Teacher, and Writer. She is the owner of the coaching practice The Art of Aging which can be found at theartofaging.us.
As a manager and leader, Kathleen practices the principles of Transformational and Servant Leadership. Using these principles in her work career, she created and lead teams to serve disabled and at-risk youth and adults, as well as those transitioning from Federal assistance programs to full employment. She continues to use these skills and principles in all of the workshop and training programs that she conducts.
Kathleen received her certification as a Professional Co-Active Coach in 1998 from the Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, CA. Since that time, she has coached both individuals and groups, designed and taught numerous workshops on life purpose, memoir writing, and storytelling. Her primary focus now is working with older women to reframe the aging process in a positive and empowering light, to gather communities of elders and share our wisdom, support and stories.
A long-time writer, Kathleen is a published poet and currently hosts writing groups in her home. She is also a Pima County Master Gardener. Through this organization, she designs and teaches various gardening programs for the public.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from the Hutchins School at Sonoma State University and currently live in Tucson, Arizona.
