Jeff DeBellis has led close to 1,000 trips and courses in remote and challenging environments. He has trekked with high school students to significant natural and cultural sites across the American Southwest, taught stream ecology in the vibrant headwaters of Appalachia, and led international groups of carpenters to work alongside local crews in Haiti and Central America. He has been a wilderness medical instructor with SOLO since 2015 and is a frequent contributor to the Wilderness Medicine Newsletter. Jeff‘s articles and poems are also published in Appalachian Heritage, San Pedro River Review, Goldenseal, Gastronomica, and others. Originally from the Hudson Valley, he is currently based in Albuquerque.
