Janet Parker is an ordained United Church of Christ minister as well as a Christian ethicist. She currently serves as Senior Pastor at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Salem, Oregon. She served for seven years as Pastor for Parish Life at Rock Spring Congregational United Church of Christ in Arlington, VA. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and her Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from Union Theological Seminary in New York in 2001. Her dissertation was entitled, “For All Our Relations: Ecofeminist and Indigenous Challenges to Sustainable Development.”
Janet is an active writer and speaker on issues relating to faith and the environment. She is currently working with others in the Central Pacific Conference of the United Church of Christ to organize a retreat for churches in Oregon, Washington and Idaho to step up their advocacy on climate change.
