Jane O’Reilly is the author of two acclaimed middle-grade novels, The Secret of Goldenrod, a fantasy about an old house and a small porcelain doll, and The Notations of Cooper Cameron, which was inspired by her sister’s battle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in childhood. Both novels received multiple starred reviews and were named among the best books of the year by Kirkus Reviews.
Jane writes in many genres. She received a McKnight Fellowship in Screenwriting in 2001 and was a finalist for a McKnight Fellowship in Young Adult Fiction in 2017. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN, where she earned the Jane Resh Thomas Award for her critical thesis, Metafiction and the Guilty Conscience in Young Adult Fiction. She lives with her husband in a 100-year-old house in Minneapolis.
