The Road Taken: Navigating Paths of Transition in Life’s Journey – G210646
Course will be held at Casa del Sol (Ghost Ranch Retreat House)
Emerging from the pandemic, absorbing a difficult diagnosis, making a transition from working to retirement, loss of a loved one? These are times when we look to solutions that may not be readily available. In Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken, the reader assumes we willingly take path choices.
This 5-day class will explore the pathways, by choice or by default, that have brought you to this moment in time, and how to navigate the more difficult ones while appreciating those which are easily navigated.
As the country begins to emerge from a stay-at-home season of the coronavirus pandemic, it will not be a return to normal, but a different kind of life in the “new normal.” What might that new normal be, and how can we address it?
Quaker educator and spiritual director Jeannie Bowman will lead the class through practical and useful strategies for coping, spiritual practices for releasing and healing the past, recognizing the in-between times, rituals for letting go, meditation, and writing. Supporting the physical, mental, and spiritual approaches will be helpful in maneuvering successful passage through these transitions.
Sunday-Friday, June 27 – July 2
Note: This course will also be offered Sunday-Friday, August 29 – September 3, 2021

What is the difference between a room with private bath, a room with semi-private or shared bath, and a room with communal/dorm bath?
Private bath refers to the type of bathroom, not single occupancy
Private Bath Room: There is a bathroom in that one room that is not shared between or with any other rooms. The highest rate tier of Ghost Ranch lodging.
Semi-private/shared: There is a bathroom between two rooms that is shared by the occupants of the two adjoining sleeping rooms. These rooms will only be used as family or group suites, not to be shared by unknown neighbors as in the past.
Communal/dorm: There is a communal bathroom/shower in the lodging building and participants will need to exit their room to reach these facilities.
