VIRTUAL: Word + Image: Make Your Own Meditation Cards

Tap your own inner wisdom to create a deck of meditation cards using collaged words and images.

We will meet via Zoom, each morning to consider one of 5 life principles: Flowing, Spiraling, Belonging, Becoming, Balancing.

Using an intuitive approach to art-making and writing, we will repurpose the visual and written material available to us- mail, magazines, old letters, cards, scraps and the like- to create a new idea.

Participants will finish the class with at least one card representing each life process and the techniques to continue building your deck of cards. This course is designed to deepen your personal experience with art-making and writing as a meditative process.

Five Days:
Monday, January 25 – Friday, January 29, 2021
Two sessions each day:
Morning Session: 9-10:30am MST (90 minutes)
Afternoon Session: 4-5:30pm MST (90 minutes)

    Kelly O. Finnerty, LMFT is an artist, educator and psychotherapist with a deep appreciation for the inspiring power of the northern New Mexico landscape that she has enjoyed exploring for many years. Dedicated to the healing power of creative expression, Kelly has more than 25 years of experience facilitating creative self-expression for adults and children in schools, nature centers, museums and therapeutic settings.

    Her creativity is expressed through personal art making, facilitating therapy groups using art and movement and in leading development of museum exhibits and public art projects. Her current projects emphasize the importance of creativity and connection to nature for physical and mental health.
