HOPE OUT LOUD with Harry Eberts – G26020202

Date

Feb 08 – 14 2026

Ready to hope again? Then look to Jesus. Not the tame Jesus in olden day Sunday School portraits.

The real Jesus.
The empire breaker.
The hope igniter.

Jesus walked through a world run by violence, fear, oppression, and staggering inequality. Sound familiar? But instead of folding, whining, or withdrawing, he lit a fire. He told disruptive stories that opened hearts and inspired courage. He touched the wounds no one else would. He invited strangers to his table and called them family. He united, not divided.
He spoke truth to power; a truth so fierce it rattled Rome itself. That was his resistance—a gospel resistance—hidden in plain sight. Raw. Hopeful. Effective. And impossible to stamp out. It was a truth so unstoppable the empire had to co-opt it just to survive.

And now—it’s our turn. This isn’t religion-as-usual. This is about stepping into the movement Jesus himself launched. The gospels aren’t bedtime stories; they’re a blueprint for resistance. A primer for defying cruelty with compassion, resisting lies with truth, countering despair with audacious hope.

Together we will:
Strip away the spin and look at what Jesus actually did—and why it shook the world.

Confront the knock-off versions of Jesus we see in politics and pop culture.

Train in practices of gospel resistance that steel us for the crises of our time.

Imagine what a Christianity true to Jesus looks like—dangerous, joyful, unafraid.
The first followers discovered another way was possible. That way still flows through our veins. The footsteps are still fresh in the sand.

Join a movement Jesus started. Resist out loud. Hope out loud.
