Ghost Ranch Extends Closure – New Goal for Re-Open is Early June

Blog, Coronavirus Updates | 8 comments

We are glad to know that for many of you Ghost Ranch is still on the list as part of your New Mexico adventure or a healing visit amid the powerful landscape.

Although the governor is working to open access to state parks, non-essential businesses and other venues, we will not open on May 15. All facilities, hiking trails including access from the Continental Divide Trail, tours and trail rides remain closed. We are using this time for spring cleaning and a few facility fixes.

The sheep have had their spring sheering, the alfalfa field is looking green, and we are preparing new ways of being on the ranch and new ways to experience this space we all love.

Our open date is still unsure but our new target is sometime in June.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work to make our reopening safe for staff, guests and especially for our local community.

Please continue to visit this page for updates.

Here is a link. At this time, we are working through what our food service options will look like. It most likely will look like other food service providers around the country with a limited number of indoor tables, plenty of outdoor socially distanced eating areas – following CDC guidelines for how it is presented and served.

I just celebrated my 78th birthday. For the last 10 years with one exception, my birthday occurred while attending Bluegrass Camp at Ghost Ranch. I can’t describe my disappointment with the circumstances involved with Covid-19 and the tremendous impact it must have on this beautiful and wonderful place. My best wishes to you and staff, thanks for all you do.
