Ghost Ranch is located 65 miles northwest of Santa Fe (forty miles beyond Española) on U.S. 84.

The nearest major airport is in Albuquerque, 130 miles south of Ghost Ranch. There are several car rental agencies located at the airport. Commercial shuttle service to Ghost Ranch may be available. Inquire at the Airport.

Summer transportation options are outlined in the seminar area of this website. If you use a wheelchair or scooter and need transportation from the airport or train depot, please call 505.685.4333, ext. 155.

  • If you fly

Plan to arrive in Abiquiu before 5:00 p.m. on the day your seminar begins. Meal service at Ghost Ranch is not available after 6:30 p.m. Please plan accordingly. 

  • If you take the train.
We advise that you arrive in Santa Fe a day before your course begins due to train schedules (most arrive at 3:00 p.m). When you make your train reservation, book through to Santa Fe. Your train ride will end in Lamy and a shuttle will take you to Ghost Ranch in Santa Fe. Durning non-summer months you will then need to rent a car or make other transportation arrangements to get to Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu.

  • If you drive.
Coming from Albuquerque, take I-25 north towards Santa Fe. You may take the 599 bypass to U.S. 84/285 (this will save approximately 20 minutes of travel) or take the St. Francis Drive exit. St. Francis Drive becomes U.S. 84/285 at the north end of Santa Fe. Once in Española continue through town to the Fairview/Riverside intersection (Walgreen's and the Bank of America are on the corners). Turn left on Fairview to cross the river; then turn right on Paseo de Oñate (U.S. 84).

Once on Highway 84, watch for the Ghost Ranch sign between mileposts 224 and 225 (approximately 13 miles north of Bode's Store in Abiquiu).

We encourage you to help Ghost Ranch minimize vehicle traffic, eliminate parking congestion, and maintain a safe, clean air environment by not driving while you are on the Ranch.
