David Crumm in his online magazine Read the Spirit has named J. Philip Newell, the Companion Theologian of Ghost Ranch’s Casa del Sol, as one of “10 spiritual sages to watch in 2009.” Crumm writes “There’s also a powerful ecumenical-and even interfaith-openness in the Celtic view of Christianity that makes the work of Newell and other neo-Celtic writers feel like a bracing ocean breeze on American shores." Concerning his newly published book Newell writes, “I explore the Celtic image of Christ as the Memory of what we have forgotten. He remembers the dance of the universe and the harmony that is deep within all things. He is the Memory also of who we are.” Hard back, 139 pages
