Ghost Ranch is a uniquely magical place located in the high desert of northern New Mexico at two different sites-Abiquiu and Santa Fe. Three dominant groups live and work in this area: Native American, Hispanic and Anglo. Their unique and diverse backgrounds meld together to form a blended culture different from any you might experience in the United States.

Our Abiquiu site is a 21,000-acre working ranch where wranglers still ride horses to herd cattle, coyotes howl at night and deer graze in the pastures outside your room.

Our Santa Fe site is in the heart of the historic capital city of Santa Fe, with galleries and museums galore, as well as the legislative buildings of the city. Being in either site is like nothing you can imagine and an experience you will never forget.

FOCUS ON SOMETHING YOU LIKE!

All Jan Term classes at Ghost Ranch are designed to give you an intensive experience of the subjects you study as well as time to enjoy and experience Ranchland or the City, with many hiking trails near both sites. Class sizes are kept small, usually 12 or less students per instructor, enabling greater student/faculty interaction and individual attention. Many of our instructors are professionals in their field and have extensive experience teaching Jan Term courses.
