Engrosser's Script, as the the Master Penman Mr. William Lilly calls it, or more commonly known as Copperplate, will be offered. You will learn about the oblique penholder, inks, nibs and paper to use with this script and other pointed pen scripts.
The class will start with how to use the oblique pen holder to make the basic strokes for this script which form the lower case letters. Then, combining everything to write the lower case letters, you'll learn how to connect each lower case letter to form words. Sounds rather elementary, but learning the proper letter form truly makes a difference in this script. After the lower case letters, we will move on to the beautiful capital letters. Combining everything you will learn spacing techniques with the capitals and between words. A final project will hopefully be achieved at the end of the course to display what you have learned with this beautiful script.
