Deepening our spirituality seems often to be a dance that moves between building strong community, experiencing the beauty of the wilderness, pushing ourselves beyond what we thought we could do, and opening ourselves to more profound reflections on who God calls us to be in the world. This course is about all of those things: hiking, learning one another's stories, quiet moments beside the river, and the thrill of successfully navigating a class three rapid. Join us for a journey into the wonder of creation and the mystery of the spirit.

This course includes a night hike, exploration of ancient cultural sites, an engagement with indigenous peoples, spirituality, a visit to the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, an overnight wilderness sojourn, and the adventure of rafting the Chama River. We will be away from the Ranch camping for two nights.

Rick Ufford-Chase, Stony Point, NY Rick is the Executive Director of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, and the Co-Director of Stony Point Conference Center in New York. Rick served as the Moderator of the 216th General Assembly of the PC(USA). He and his wife Kitty have three children: Leana (10), Troy (11) and Teo (14).

Brandon Wert, Tucson, AZ  Brandon has served as the Associate Pastor at Southside Presbyterian Church and is the Site Coordinator for the Tucson/Borderlands site of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Young Adult Volunteer Program. He is an advocate for land redemption and protection of the Sonoran Desert.
