The Asante people of Western Africa use a special type of printed symbols on fabric called Adinkra (ah-dink-rah). These individual symbols represent character traits (i.e. bravery, wisdom, strength, beauty, etc.) which are printed in rows, spirals and zigzag patterns to create intricate patterns on cloth and paper.
Each student will produce a limited edition hand-pulled set of prints on paper and cloth. Cloth panels will be embellished with items provided by the instructor. Some all-day sessions.
