Micaceous Pottery & Fall Traditions of Northern New Mexico I

In addition to exploring select projects using a locally harvested clay body, we will discuss local autumn traditions, such as mud-plastering, food preparation, and chile harvesting. A field trip is planned to gather pigments for pottery decoration. End-of-week primitive outdoor firing, all tools and materials included.

$375 (includes $25 lab fee) for 1 week + housing & meals

Camilla Trujillo, Santa Cruz, NM Camilla has been studying traditional regional pottery techniques for over 25 years and instructing for 17 years. A native New Mexican, her love for micaceous clay and traditional firing techniques has infused her own work and fueled her fascination with the unique culture.
