In addition to exploring select projects using a locally harvested clay body, we will discuss local autumn traditions, such as mud-plastering, food preparation, and chile harvesting. A field trip is planned to gather pigments for pottery decoration. End-of-week primitive outdoor firing, all tools and materials included.

A native New Mexican, her love for micaceous clay and traditional firing techniques has infused her own work and fueled her fascination with the unique culture.
