The College Staffers are welcomed aides for the everyday tasks of the Finance Office. Every project is on a time schedule and they are kept busy preparing information to be sent to Corporate Headquarters, data entry, making copies, assisting in balancing all daily sales, and assisting in preparing bank deposits. The experience gained is beneficial for any college person pursuing a Business Management or Accounting Degree.
Farm
Working on the Ghost RAnch farm is an opportunity to learn about small-scale gardening / farming, and about handling small to mid-size animals. The farm requires 24-7 attention due to predator control and animal care. As a farm hand, you will work outdoors with plants and animals, handling chickens, sheep, alpacas, llamas, and miniature horses. The farm hand will mostly do manual labor, but will also collaborate on the weekly farm newsletter, co-facilitate hunger program on the Ranch, work with marketing department to advertise for the farm and assist with the weekly farm open house.
Housekeeping
College Staffers will work with Housekeeping staff to clean rooms: make beds, dust, vacuum, wash windows, and clean bathrooms; wash floors in community spaces; clean offices; sweep portals and spider webs; wash and fold linens and put together complete linen sets for the beds; pick up dirty linens from all buildings; take out the trash and recycling; clean out the housekeeping vans; restock the housekeeping vans and storage rooms; clean the public laundry and meeting rooms; clean all public restrooms on a daily basis.
Front Desk Receptionist 
The front desk receptionist will work with the other Welcome Center staff to provide premier guest services to all, and to effectively and efficiently communicate the needs of guests to all departments.
Library
The College Staff Librarian assists the Head Librarian in the assessment, selection, processing, and preparation of library materials, including appropriate computer hardware and software. She or he also assists patrons; catalogs (Library of Congress classification), processes, prepares and repairs books and other materials; maintains and compiles summer library use statistics; is responsible for daily operation of the library; maintains a pleasant décor and ambience in the library; performs other duties relating to the operation of the library; works with others at Ghost Ranch to carry out the Ranch’s mission of hospitality and service.
Lifeguard
One lead guard plus two lifeguards will be hired. Responsible for daily care of swimming pool and area (cleaning, water quality and bathhouse). Safety and welling being of swimmers and Ranch guests at the pool. Swimming instruction to children from neighboring communities. Occasional guarding at Abiquiu lake for special events.
Outdoor Adventures
Two college staff positions will work under the supervision of our Outdoor Education Coordinator. Working with children, youth and adults at the waterfront (kayaks and canoes), leading hikes, facilitating low and high ropes team building and overseeing our bicycle program (may help with horse program as needed).
Trading Post
Two college staff will split this position and will also work in another department. Retail sales, able to work the cash register, daily balance of sales, inventory and stocking. This may be a position that splits mid summer.
Wrangler
College Staff wranglers are responsible for all aspects of basic horse care (mucking, feeding, grooming), instruction of basic horsemanship, riding instruction, and leading Trail Rides. Applicants should already have a good foundation in these areas, feel confident around horses, and be able to instruct children as well as adults.
Youth Programming
In The Ghost Ranch Youth Program, young people ages 3 – 18 participate in adventure, creativity, service, ecology, community and fun. As youth play and trek together in the magnificence of the Ghost Ranch landscape, we hope that they are touched by God’s Spirit in a unique way. Ghost Ranch welcomes youth from all religious and cultural backgrounds. We strive to honor the unique individuality of each child while building a supportive and engaging community of youth in this magical place.
The Ultimate "YPer" (short for Youth Programmer) is someone who is highly energetic, loves children of all ages, is a Good Role Model, has lots of interests, likes physical activity, and is able to work as part of a team. The name of the game at Ghost Ranch is flexibility; the Ultimate YPer is able to make a good plan while leaving room to drop everything and follow an even better direction that emerges in the moment. We’re looking for a few folks with specialized skills: Music Leader, Art Coordinator, Outdoor Education Coordinator and Senior High Leadership Leader. We need plenty of additional counselors with heaps of unique skills: sports, dancing, juggling, cooking, sewing, hiking, star gazing, archery, theatre, storytelling, problem-solving, fencing, fort building, pottery, stone carving and writing to name a few.
Youth Service Corps
Purpose: To serve Ghost Ranch and Northern New Mexico by providing labor and services for the various cultural communities in the area; and to provide a cultural, educational, and spiritual context in which youth may come to a deeper understanding of their own calling and their place in the world.
