Ghost Ranch grounds its life and program in reverence,
hospitality for all people, and respect for creation.
- From the Mission Statement of Ghost Ranch
Hospitality and service are cornerstone values that permiate every facet of life at the Ranch. Each staff member is called to work joyfully, and to be prepared to extend hospitality and service to each other, to the guests, and to the local community. For example, the College Staff helps the ever-busy kitchen staff by cleaning the tables in the Dining Hall after meals. If a guest needs assistance finding a building on campus, we welcome the opportunity to guide them. When the maintenance staff seeks aide in setting up classroom chairs, we pitch in.
Application - Service dates are June 3-August 12, 2012
Service Project
Each summer the College Staff creates, organizes, and carries out a project to serve the Ranch or the local community.
Willie Picaro has been a vital part of the Ghost Ranch community since the late 1970’s. He shares his love of the Ranch landscape and the surrounding area with guests and the College Staffers through leading hiking classes and sustainability projects. In honor of Willie’s dedication to this place and other’s enjoyment of it, the 2011 College Staff created and sold tee-shirts with a stylized image of Willie to raise funds for trail restoration and maintenance projects.
