Casa del Sol Spirituality and Retreat Center
"See, I'm about to do a new thing, do you not see it?" Isaiah
Casa del Sol Spirituality and Retreat Center is a contemplative retreat space in the high desert at Ghost Ranch. Opening on May 3rd, 2006, Casa del Sol is a place where all pilgrims may find rest, renewal and sanctuary. Within the historic adobe hacienda, there is space for individual solitude, silent or guided retreats, spiritual direction and group retreats.
Casa del Sol is called to be
A space in which to be still and listen for the voice of God
that provides guidance to the spirit.
An open-hearted setting where seekers find refreshment
a heightened awareness of the landscape as teacher.
A spot of simplicity and beauty where the heartbeat of Ghost Ranch
is felt along with the presence of God in all aspects of creation.
A community of all creation, worshipping God as a prayerful
center of Ghost Ranch; an incubator in the service of God’s creation.
Celebrating Christ and creation as one, coming from the heart of God.
Individuals may select a retreat from those already scheduled at Casa del Sol or come for an individual retreat. A spiritual advisor is available upon request. The retreat house provides a spectacular desert panorama, a spacious common room with fireplace, kitchen and simple living facilities which house up to twelve people.

The Casa del Sol Prayer of Jesus
Ground of all being,
Mother of life, Father of the universe,
Your name is sacred, beyond speaking.
May we know your presence,
may your longings be our longings in heart and in action.
May there be food for the human family today
and for the whole earth community.
Forgive us the falseness of what we have done
as we forgive those who are untrue to us.
Do not forsake us in our time of conflict
but lead us into new beginnings.
For the light of life, the vitality of life, and the glory of life
are yours now and for ever.
Amen
At Casa del Sol prayers are offered daily at the rising and setting of the sun.
Praying daily, Companions covenant to remember the ministry and the dispersed community in their prayers. Returning annually may be through courses, in individual retreat, or by bringing a small group. An annual gathering of Companions is held in late November/early December to reflect on the community’s life together and to renew the covenant.
Financial support will be used for programmatic needs, such as scholarships, resident spiritual directors, and to ensure that Casa del Sol is available to all who wish to be there.
We hold each other, whether gathered or dispersed, in prayer for the life and work of wholeness and healing.
Marianne Lewis Agrees to become Coordinator for the Companions of Casa del Sol
This new position will support the national network of individuals who, beginning last December, have signed covenants to be Companions of Casa del Sol. Since this is a new position and is therefore evolving, at the moment we believe it will include:
** To hold and interpret the vision and covenant of Casa del Sol Companions
** To respond to inquiries and to interpret the vision to current and prospective companions
** To develop, with appropriate GR staff and advisors, volunteer service opportunities
** To answer requests about and coordinating volunteer opportunities
** To plan and coordinate the annual retreat of Companions in December
** To facilitate the “blessing ritual” for new companions off-season
** To build inter-faith connections with Ghost Ranch neighbors in the region
** To work with the Ghost Ranch Director of Program as a liaison to the Companions and sit on the Advisory Team
As the companion program grows, this position that Marianne has agreed to assume and to help us define will be critical. Marianne may be reached by email at
