We come from a great Silence; we return to a great Silence. In the interval we call Life, Silence can be our most helpful companion, coaxing us to hear the Wise One Within (WOW!). When we travel in Silence through our inner terrain we can find important clues to the life we truly want. This workshop combines poetry writing, visual art, and meditation in unique ways to make personal wisdom available. The culminating project of the week is a small handmade book containing poetic and visually interesting insights from the journey. Participants will learn practical meditation, writing, and art techniques that uncover the profound gift in ordinary life events and point the way to future choices.

Participants will:

• experience at least three methods of silent meditation (sitting, walking, eating).
• discover ways to use silence to uncover inner wisdom leading to choices of importance in their own lives.
• map the landscape of their inner terrain using poetry and visual art.

Patricia Webb, OK Patricia is a veteran Artist-in-Residence (creative writing) in Oklahoma and a leader in arts integration approaches with adults and children.  She celebrated her 50th birthday by going into Silence for six months, emerging with a mission to bring the contemplative arts, especially Silence, to a noisy world.  Since that time she has conducted hundreds of Silence Workshops throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
