Meet Coelophysis, the Ghost Ranch dinosaur, and learn about the fossils and rocks of New Mexico through lectures, fun projects and short field trips. Help build the Museum float for the Fourth of July parade. There will be some afternoon and evening sessions. Some hiking is required. Bring hats, water bottles, sturdy shoes, sun block, bug repellent, and a field journal or notebook.
This class is designed for children/grandchildren, 8-11 years old, and their accompanying adults.

Alex Downs, Medanales, NM Alex is in his 16th year as Curator of Paleontology for the Museums at Ghost Ranch. Alex engages learners of all ages in the fascinating interplay of bones, rocks and stars. He was trained as a preparator at the Smithsonian Institution.
Pita Martinez-McDonald, Cuba, NM Pita has been teaching elementary school for Cuba Independent Schools, in Cuba, New Mexico for 35 years. She loves teaching science and is a 2005 Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Science Teaching.
