Three thousand years befor Abraham and prior to the building of the Pyramids at Giza, people were living in rock shelters in this part of the Chama Valley. Help excavate two of the many archaeological sites on Ghost Ranch, GR2 and GR145, under the direction of our knowledgeable crew chiefs. Drawn to detail? Help with the cataloging of artifacts from previous excavations in the lab and see another aspect of the archaeological picture. During Week 1 evening lectures will focus on the Archaic time period about 6,000 years ago--the earliest date we have at GR2. Week 2 lectures will highlight the later Ancestral Puebloan period.
