Study Leave
The fine library and modestly priced accommodations at Ghost Ranch Abiquiu are available for individual study leave in fall, winter, and spring. Your reading, reflecting, and writing will be grounded in the serenity of the high desert landscape. Our librarian is happy to work with you in advance to see that the book resources you need will be available. Investment of your continuing education allowance at Ghost Ranch Abiquiu brings a dividend in refreshment for body, mind, and spirit. While stays of one or two weeks are usual, arrangements can be made for longer stays at attractive rates.
Lodging
Our rooms are basic, no frills, but clean and comfortable with magnificent views. We hope you will enjoy your stay with us in this special place of red canyons, majestic mesas and amazing skies. The majority of rooms are double occupancy with dormitory style baths; single rooms are available on a limited basis with a supplemental charge.
Rates are per person, per day for persons coming for B&B or bringing their own group or conference. This includes overnight accommodations and three meals daily, served cafeteria style, with choice of indoor or outdoor dining and vegetarian or nonvegetarian menu.

All rates include breakfast in the Ghost Ranch Dining Hall.

MESA - There is a short hike up and down a moderately steep trail to the dining hall and meeting rooms. We recommend bringing a backpack, flashlight and sturdy shoes.

Dorm-style Bath: (available May to early October) These are summer camp-style rooms that sleep two or more people in twin or bunk beds. Bathroom and showers are outside, and down a covered porch or in nearby units. Linens and towels are provided.

LOWER LEVEL
There are a limited number of rooms with a private bath or semi-private bath. These are situated in small cottages or units which are centrally located to the main buildings on the Ranch. Several of these units have handicap accessibility. Open year-round. Linens and towels are provided.

CASITAS - Open May to early October
- $45 B&B for first two persons, then breakfast only for the next three / The casitas are adobe structures that sleep 2-5 people in twin and bunk beds with wonderful views of the red rock mesas and near to Box Canyon Trail. They are bare-bones shelters designed for families or groups and are one step up from camping. Guests provide their own sleeping bags, linens and towels. The 18 casitas share a bathhouse nearby. There is a 5-15 minute walk to dining hall and meeting rooms. We recommend bringing a backpack, flashlight and sturdy shoes.
CAMPGROUND - Open from mid-May until early October - does not include meals. The campground bathhouse is equipped with ice machine, showers, sinks and coin-operated laundry facilities. There is a 10-15 minute walk to dining hall and meeting rooms. Campsites are provided with picnic benches and fire ring. Campfires are available only when weather conditions permit. The high desert environment is subject to periods of drought with high fire danger.
Campers may bring their own food, or purhase meal tickets in the main office or at the Ghost Ranch Dining Hall at mealtime. Meals will not be served to campers without a meal ticket. We are sorry, but there are no pets allowed in the campgrounds (with the exception of assistance animals). Some restrictions may apply during peak Ghost Ranch seminar weeks.

Those registered for a Ghost Ranch seminar or with a conference group may make camping reservations. Reservations for specific campsites are not accepted. Campers who are registered for a Ghost Ranch seminar or conference should check in at the office, and then with the Campground Host. Campers who come for R&R may check in directly with the Campground Host. If Campground Host is unavailable, locate forms for registration at Campground Host site.
Meals -- Campers or Day Visitors
Individual meals may be purchased at the office: Prices are: Breakfast - $6.50, Lunch - $8, Dinner - $10.
Distances on the Ranch and other helpful information: There is a 5-10 minute walk from most rooms to the dining hall, library, museums and meeting rooms. We observe the honor system at Ghost Ranch and there are no locks on guest room doors. In addition, there are no phones, T.V. or radios in the rooms. Phones are available for guest use on the Ranch. Access for long distance calls is available with a phone card (bring your own or purchase one in the Trading Post). A computer with Internet access is available for guest use in the office. There are no pets (with the exception of assist animals) allowed on the Ranch.
Ghost Ranch Abiquiu is located in the high desert at 6,500 ft. Things you may find helpful to bring, especially during the summer season, include: sturdy walking shoes, backpack for carrying water and personal items or for hiking, small portable fan for your room, sunscreen, flashlight, comfortable clothes that can be layered, a hat, robe, rain gear, and a warm jacket or sweatshirt for the evenings.
